Yoga Flow ~ Vinyasa Yoga

55 MINUTES $200

Flow yoga is a blend of breath-work, meditation, energizing movements and intention. Incorporating the components of synchronized breath, the bandhas, dristis, and vinyasa yoga, Flow yoga has its roots in the Ashtanga Yoga system.

Mastering the poses (asanas) may take many years, so the focus begins with the breath, as it is the breath that drives the purification of the mind-body. This practice is suitable for beginners and advanced. How many of the poses and your level of practice depends on your personal ability.

Flow yoga is about learning to meet yourself where you are each day, utilizing the tools you have and rising to the challenge, on and off the mat with awareness, compassion and dedication.

Yoga Nidra and Meditation

55 MINUTES $200

Yoga Nidra or yoga sleep, is an ancient technique that takes the practitioner through states of consciousness, induced by a guided meditation. Today, the most common method practiced was developed by, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, as an approach towards self-realization in the 1940’s, although its roots are found in the Buddhist, Tantric and Hindu traditions, dating back to 700 BCE. It is a systematic practice of moving awareness from our external world to our inner world and through the subtle layers of the energetic body. Yoga Nidra has many benefits when practiced regularly and consistently. As more and more people seem to be suffering from the effects of seclusion, unrealistic pressures of day to day life, with less time to connect internally or unplug, many are finding themselves in a state of crisis on a physical, psychological and emotional level. Yoga Nidra is a restorative and supportive practice that can benefit everyone. Yoga Nidra has been linked to helping with the reduction of stress, sleeping disorders, relieving pain and inflammation, helps to balance the psychological strains associated with menstrual disorders, supports chronic trauma and PTSD survivors. A typical session can last anywhere from 30-45 minutes, long with the added practice of gentle asana to prepare the body before the session with the addition of mindful breathing before or after to help calm, restore and relax the senses.

Traditional Thai massage, also called Thai Yoga Therapy, is a therapeutic technique that dates back thousands of years. A Thai massage treatment is a positive, energizing, uplifting experience for the client as well as the practitioner. Thai massage is often called “Lazy man’s Yoga” because the client is passive while the therapist moves and supports the client in a variety of positions and stretches that are essentially Yoga asanas. There are many styles and techniques that are applied in Thai massage. Traditional Thai medicine is a natural and holistic approach to health and healing with its aim in restoring balance and flow along the 10 major channels or sen lines that allow the flow of energy through out the body. In Thai medicine, it is believed that if there is an obstruction within these channels, pain or disease results. Thai massage can be divided into two main styles- The Royal Method and the Commoner Style. The traditional method is to use the feet, knees, legs, elbows and any other means for applying pressure. This style is referred to as the folk or commoner style and has become very popular and widely used in the West. There are thousands of positions that make up the repertoire of Thai massage that include pressure along the sen sip or energy lines through out the body, gentle soothing movements and yogic stretching, rhythmic rocking, ROM work, application of oils and herbs, and joint compression and decompression. Thai massage is a deep, full-body treatment, which includes both stretching of the joints and muscles while applying pressure along the energy lines of the body. A session is a flowing exchange between the client and the practitioner much like that of a dance. The principle of loving kindness motivates the development and the practice of the session.
